Some Belgium Trivia:
Trappist - brewed by Monks within monastery walls. Belgium has 6, the most of any country in the world.
Trappist Westvleteren VII - regularly rated #1 in the world, brewed in Belgium.
Lambic - produced by spontaneous fermentation: it is exposed to the wild yeasts and bacteria that are said to be native to Brussels. It is this unusual process which gives the beer its distinctive flavor: dry and cidery, usually with a sour aftertaste, frequently an ingredient in traditional Belgian cuisine.
Gaufre Liège - Waffle - a staple ingredient for every meal, snack, location, gathering, time, place or event. Filled with pearled chocolate. Topped with...everything.
Also. We watched a nun ring a bell from a tiny rope swinging in the middle of the chapel. Chill bumps.
